Samagra Shiksha Nagaland declares online competition results

Dimapur, Nov. 5 (EMN): The Samagra Shiksha Nagaland has declared the results of various online competitions conducted by youth and Eco club members of government schools during September and October.

The competitions were organised to create awareness on the dos and don’ts in the fight against the novel coronavirus and to sensitise students on environmental issues, water conservation, and importance of home study and reading, nutrition and health concerns.

According to a press release issued by Vekhozo, state coordinator of Samagra Shiksha Nagaland, the activities aided students to be productive and adapt the new system of learning during the closure of schools due to the Covid-19 pandemic. 

Competitions were conducted in various categories at block, district and state-levels. Certificates of recognition were awarded to all winners at the district and block-levels, while the winners at the state-level were given cash prizes along with certificate.

In category 1, which consisted of drawing for primary students, the first prize was won by Khrisnadi, a class 4 student from GMS Disaguphu, Dimapur, while Dzuweu, a class 3 student of GPS Lewoza in Phek district and Hanna Sonla, a class 4 student of GHS Jotsoma in Kohima district won the second and the third prize s respectively.

In category 2, which consisted of elocution for elementary students, the first prize was won by Meneliu, a class 7 student of GHS Diphupar B in Dimapur district, while the second prize was won by Heipungonle, a class 8 student of GHSS Peren town, and the third prize was won by Wanom, a class 8 student of GMS Wakching in Mon district.

In category 3, which consisted of essay writing for secondary and higher secondary, the first prize was won by Ochirenla, a class 12 Science student of Senayangba GHSS Ungma in Mokokchung district, while the second prize was won by Sunita Gurung, a class 10 student of GHS Pughoboto in Zunheboto district, and the third prize was won by Chumlamo W Ngullie, a class 11 student of GHSS Chukitong in Wokha district.
