Safe delivery home stay inaugurated in Kiphire
Dimapur, May 29 (EMN): Matruprem- a safe delivery home stay for pregnant women- was inaugurated in Kiphire by the Deputy Commissioner, Kiphire, Shayung Phom, on May 28.
Metruprem (Mother’s care) is a safe place for pregnant women where they could bounce ideas and also reduce stress.
ADC, Kiphire, Wilfred Reny, in his short speech, stated that the main objective of the home stay is to assist pregnant women especially living in villages and also staying far away from Kiphire town.
As most of the pregnant women are not able to reach the district hospital in time due to bad road connectivity and transportation problem, he has sought coordination between the district administration and the District Hospital, Kiphire in order to overcome all those problems.
He informed that proper facilities would be made available to the delivery women at Metruprem. He also informed that free accommodation for one family, free cooking facility and medical care support would be offered during the stay in safe delivery home. ADC further pointed out that the maternal and neonatal deaths can be tackled effectively through the home.
