RRC organises short play competition

WOKHA — In an effort to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS among the students, the Red Ribbon Club (RRC) of Bailey Baptist College (BBC) in Wokha organised a short play competition as part of its yearly activities, sponsored by the Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS) on Wednesday.

The primary goal of the event was to spread critical information about HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment and the importance of early diagnosis.

The programme was chaired by Nyanbeni Ngullie, assistant nodal officer of the Red Ribbon Club, who in her opening remarks highlighted the importance of engaging young minds and the local community in such initiatives. She emphasised that through creative mediums like short plays, complex health issues could be communicated effectively.

The short play competition featured several teams from various departments of the college, each addressing different aspects of HIV/AIDS, including stigma, discrimination and the significance of support for those affected by the virus.

The performances were praised for their creativity, emotional depth and educational value.

T Penthungo Lotha, actinf principal of the college, commended the participants for their dedication and expressed hope that the messages would encourage individuals to take proactive steps towards HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention.

He also extended gratitude to NSACS for their continued support in organising such programmes that benefit the youth and the larger population.

The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony where the best-performing teams were recognised for their outstanding contributions.

The initiative was part of a series of activities conducted by the Red Ribbon Club to promote health education and support Nagaland’s fight against HIV/AIDS.
