RPF recovers contraband items worth more than INR 7.54 lakh
Dimapur, Sep. 5 (EMN): Continuing its fight against transportation of contraband and illicit goods in trains, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has recovered contraband goods worth more than INR 7.54 lakh from Aug. 30 till Sep. 2.
An update issued on Sep. 5 informed that the contraband items were recovered from unclaimed bags during regular checks and drives at various stations and trains over NFR.
During the period, the RPF recovered contraband and illicit goods worth about INR 7.30 lakhs and liquors worth above INR 24,000 during different checks and drives conducted at Agartala, Jirania, New Jalpaiguri, Lumding, Alipurduar and New Bongaigaon stations.
It may be mentioned here that the RPF are constantly vigil towards activities related to smuggling and transportation of contraband items at various railway stations and trains over NFR inorder to make the train journey safe and peaceful.
