Dimapur, July 23 (EMN): The 14th installation ceremony of Board of Directors of Rotary Club Kohima for the session 2017-18 was held on July 22 at Hotel Japfu, Kohima, with RS Panesar, Assistant Governor of Zone-IX, as the installation officer.
Addressing the gathering, the Assistant Governor congratulated and thanked the outgoing team led by its president Rosemary Dzuvichu on the successful completion of their tenure with many memorable achievements and work done during their tenure 2016-17.
He also conveyed his best wishes to the newly installed officials led by its president Z Tokishe Sema for the year 2017-18. He has urged the Rotarians to make a difference by working towards development and welfare of the people in the form of building new playground, new school, improving sanitation and providing medical care in order to change the lives of people for the betterment of the community.
He also conveyed the message of the Rotary International president, Ian HS Risely; who said that protecting the environment and curtailing climate change are essential to Rotary’s goal of sustainable service. Environment degradation and global climate change are severe threat to very existence of humanity, he said.
RI President also challenged every Rotarian to make a difference by planting a tree.
He also urged the members to look after the environment with great interest, improve gender balance by inducting more female members, lower the average age of the members by inducting younger members in the age group of around 40 years and to work on the six areas of focus especially on literacy.
The new team for the session 2017-18 is headed by Er. Z Tokishe Sema as president, Ase Yhome as vice president, Richard Dzuvichu as secretary, Thiala Chang as joint secretary, Temsumenla as treasurer.
