Rio, Khattar discuss boosting power, infrastructure in Nagaland
DIMAPUR — Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio met with the Union Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal Khattar in New Delhi on Wednesday.
According to a post on the Ministry’s official X handle, the duo had a productive meeting, discussing ways to boost urban infrastructure development and power connectivity in Nagaland.
Earlier on August 6, while addressing a workshop for elected councillors to urban local bodies (ULBs) in Kohima, Rio had announced that the state government has been pushing for support from the central ministry.
He also shared plans of meeting Khattar.
Among others, Rio also revealed that a proposal for a one-time special grant has been submitted to the central government to address the urgent needs of ULBs, as the state has been unable to access funds for the past two decades.
