DIMAPUR — Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on October 4 visited landslide-affected areas on NH-29 and took stock of the ongoing restoration works.
Incessant rain in the past few months has resulted in mudslides and landslides in several areas along NH 29 at Pherima, New Chümoukedima, Tseiphema and Piphema. Since then, restoration works have been in full swing.
Also, on October 4, the chief minister extended festival greetings to the Pochury and the Khiamniungan communities.
“Wishing the Pochury community a happy Yemshe. May the celebration of welcoming a new harvest bring hope, unity & abundant blessings to every household, & the spirit of togetherness enrich our lives, inspire harmony & strengthen life-long connections,” he wrote on X.
In another post, he wrote: “Greetings to the Khiamniungan community on the occasion of Tsokum as they offer prayers for a bountiful harvest & prosperity. It is a time of unity, sharing food & joy with family, friends & strangers, & reminds us of the love we find in a community”.
