Vilakhonuo Keditsu: Well let me start with my small introduction. I’m Vilakhonuo Keditsu from Chiechama village. I started singing at an early age of 9 years but I would say I just began my journey in music industry as this is the first time I realised I should start making originals too. I’m trying to explore all kind of genre and understand them and feel them, but particularly on country music.
EASTERN MIRROR: As a curtain raiser what message do you have for your fans about your debut original ‘Near and Far’ which is released in indihut?
Vilakhonuo Keditsu: “Near and far” with its deep lyrics and melody reflects our normal day to day life activities, where we are so caught up with our career and works that we tend to neglect the simple beauty things around us. This Song is written and composed by my good friend Mr. Medo Kense and Produced by Richa productions. We worked together endlessly to give justification to the song. My song will released at Indihut on Thursday at 7 p.m. I’m hoping and wishing my message will reach my fans through this song..
EASTERN MIRROR: Who are your inspirations?
Vilakhonuo Keditsu: My biggest inspiration is My Dad who always stood by me. In short, He is my Hero.
Another person who inspired me is none other than Dolly Parton, I consider her as my idol.
EASTERN MIRROR: Top 5 tracks on your playlist
Vilakhonuo Keditsu: I enjoy all kind of genre but mostly prefer country songs. So some of my favourite collections are Silver and gold by Dolly Parton , It’s a heartache by Bonnie Tyler, Title by Meghan Trainor, Have you ever seen the rain by CCR, Coat of many colours by Dolly Parton .
EASTERN MIRROR: Other things that you enjoy doing apart from singing and composing.
Vilakhonuo Keditsu: Apart of singing I enjoy playing guitar , Shopping and not forgetting clicking selfies which I can’t help it..
EASTERN MIRROR: Do you wish to make singing as your profession or?
Vilakhonuo Keditsu: As of now I have not yet thought about it.. However singing has always been my passion, and so I will be looking forward to it in the days to come.
EASTERN MIRROR: A line for those who wishes to follow music as a profession.
Vilakhonuo Keditsu: Everyone is special in their own ways. Likewise Music is also an art. You may start from small things, take up any opportunities you get. Nagaland is not lacking behind anymore when it comes to music industry. So many platforms are being provided for the promotion of new artist. My thoughts to all the musicians…. Don’t let your talent get wasted . Take every single day as a countdown for you.. Lastly , I want to encourage every struggling artist not to wait for miracle to happen but create a miracle yourself. If your will is true and dreams are strong , believe me you will shine someday .
