Rhythm of Love: In conversation with Munu Khamo

Munu Khamo popularly known as Milo is a 17-year old rapper who started rapping at a young age. His interest towards rapping is being credited to Eminem whose songs he grew up listening to.
He believes that the present Naga society can be transformed through the agent of good music.
Milo says his debut single “Milo Naga” is a letter expressing about his thoughts for a better Naga society and how to bring changes.

EASTERN MIRROR: What best describes you as an artist?
Munu Khamo: I would describe myself as a young passionate rapper working for the service of God and our Naga society who believe that our Naga society can be transformed through the agent of good music especially the genre of rap music.

EASTERN MIRROR: Your inspirations?
Munu Khamo: Well, God is my inspiration also, my family and yea, there have been many artists and rappers who have inspired me right from the bottom just to name a few ,Lecrea Borkung Hrangkhawl and one of our local artist still rhyming they have inspired me to rap for a good and noble cause.

EASTERN MIRROR: Apart from rapping, do you also sing other genres?
Munu Khamo: Yes sometimes I do sing in the church but I spend most of my time rapping one or the other genre of rap music cause I’m more maestro over rap.

EASTERN MIRROR: When did you realise rapping was your passion?
Munu Khamo: Honestly I don’t recall the exact time when I got into rap. I remember rapping along with Eminem’s Mockingbird, when I’m gone etc. and somehow I began to feel the vibe and flowed with that energy of the power of rapping. That’s the time I realised rapping was my passion.

EASTERN MIRROR: What is your debut “Milo Naga” all about?
Munu Khamo: “Milo Naga” I would say that it’s a letter expressing my thoughts for our better Naga society and how to bring a change.

EASTERN MIRROR: If you had to give up music – what would you do to be creative?
Munu Khamo: I would paint basing on peace and express my feeling through the painting to the people as painting is also a part of emotion expression and not only a sketch of a figure

EASTERN MIRROR: Have you had any ‘formal’ music training?
Munu Khamo: Mmm….so far I did not receive any ‘formal’ degree training in music. yes I attended a short- term music school in Dimapur known as Beautiful Feet Ministry.

EASTERN MIRROR: Any upcoming projects that you would like your fans to know about?
Munu Khamo: Yap, if its God will I would like to come up with a love or a gospel rap song so please do pray for me.
