Thüvopisümi (Phek), July 20 (EMN): The additional deputy commissioner (ADC) of Chozuba, Imokokla, inaugurated a resting shed at the base of Thüvopisümi Dzüdü (lake), which is about 4 km away from Thüvopisümi village in Phek district on Wednesday.
While sharing the similarity of a popular TV programme ‘National Geographic Channel,’ Imokokla implored the people to visit the beautiful place. She has appreciated the initiative of the Thüvopisümi Youth Associate (TYA) for constructing the resting shed and stated that the youth have the power to bring about change.
She urged the youth carry forward their mission by taking advantage of the social media platform to popularise the forest and places. She maintained that pictures cannot comprehend than seeing with one’s own eyes.
Describing Thüvopisümi as a progressive village, she urged the villagers especially the youth not to wait for the government but initiate change from their own capacity. While pointing out that the village is blessed with abundant natural flora and fauna, she, being the additional deputy commissioner and administrator of Chozuba Town Council, acknowledged the village council and the functionaries for providing water supply to those areas.
While evincing interest in the history of the place, she vouched to promote the place as a tourist destination and wished success to the village.
A brief history of Thüvopisümi Dzüdü, measuring 400 metre long and 200 metre wide, was presented by Zachisato Tetseo.
“As Nile is to Egypt, so is Dzüdü to the Thüvopisümi village. On any given day, no leaves will be found floating on the surface of the lake. It is a peculiarity considering its location. They sink. It desires cleanliness and respect. The pollutants are warned in their dreams. Water level remains the same. The lake is believed to be under divine control to benefit the dwellers of its foothills,” stated a hangout issued by the village council of Thüvopisümi.
The programme was chaired by TYA president, Künükhrüyi Dozo, while the village council chairman, Vekuyi Dozo, delivered the vote of thanks and a song was presented by Dzüdü Kro.
The facility was inaugurated in the presence of EAC Chozuba, Obangnener Jamir, and EAC Chetheba, Omegali, and the village leaders and functionaries.
