Registration begins for Olympic Day in Nagaland

Dimapur: The Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA) has said that it has received overwhelming response for the Olympic Day which will be held on the theme “Let’s Move” at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima, starting on June 24.

Registration is currently on and is open to all young participants aged between four and 16 years, updated NOA, adding that registration, which is free, will close on June 18.

. Participants will receive a confirmation call after registration and information about the event on June 23, it said, adding that those who didn’t receive confirmation can contact the officials.

It was informed that participants will receive their bib numbers on June 24 between 8 am and 8:30 am at IG Stadium, Kohima, while the races will commence from 9 am. Refreshments will be provided to all the participants.

The NOA has announced total prize money of INR 50,400 for the winners – 1st Prize – INR 2500; 2nd Prize – INR 1500; 3rd Prize – INR 1000; 4th Prize – INR 800; and 5th Prize – INR 500 – along with merit certificate from the association.

Each participant will also receive certificate from the International Olympic Committee, it said.

Race events to be held

• 30 meters: 4 years and above – below 6 years (born after June 1 2017)
• 50 meters: 6 years and above – below 9 years (born after June 1 2014)
• 80 meters: 9 years and above – below 13 years (born after June 1 2010)
• 100 meters: 13 years and above – below 16 years (born after June 1 2007)
