DIMAPUR — Officials of ReDimension Games, a game development studio based in Kohima, participated at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) held at San Francisco, California, USA, from March 18 to the 22nd.
ReDimension Games with their game ‘Sojourn Past’ showcased their game under the Indian Pavilion among other games from India, stated a DIPR report.
The studio’s co-founder, Pekrukhrietuo Pienyü, who represented at the conference, commented that the event was an excellent opportunity for their team to reach a global audience as well as connect with the global game development industry and other fellow game developers.
The conference is the biggest annual event for game developers all across the world. The event lasted for five days where people from all over the game developer industry worldwide participated and featured industry talks and exhibitions from the biggest companies from all over the world, the report stated.
It mentioned that ReDimension Games won the “Upcoming game of the year” award for ‘Sojourn Past’ at the 15th edition of India Game Developer Conference (IGDC), India’s oldest and biggest game developer conference, held at Hyderabad in November 2023.
Recently, a South Korean game publisher, KRAFTON India, known for publishing popular games such as PUBG: Battlegrounds, New State Mobile and TERA, selected ReDimension Games for ‘Sojourn Past’ as one of the two start-ups as part of its inaugural cohort KRAFTON India Gaming Incubator (KIGI) programme, where the studio would receive financial assistance, resources and mentoring from experts in the industry.
‘Sojourn Past’ is an action-adventure game where players are engaged into a realm where emotion and innovation intertwine, crafting a captivating narrative that immerses players in a captivating world filled with wonderful visuals and secrets to uncover. It features a unique blend of immersive action combat blended with bullet-hell mechanics.
Players are immersed in handcrafted worlds brimming with beauty and mystery as they navigate through the carefully handcrafted worlds.
Though the release date is yet to be announced, the game can be wish list on Steam, one of the most popular digital video game distribution platforms to buy and play video games.
