DIMAPUR — Nagaland continued its strong performance in Ranji Trophy 2024-2025 by claiming a second consecutive win, this time defeating Manipur by 147 runs on Monday at Nagaland Cricket Stadium, Sovima.
A press release informed that an outstanding century by Nischal Dega, who scored 154 runs off 228 balls, earned him the Player of the Match award.
“Nagaland’s bowling attack, led by captain Jonathan Rongsen with 5 wickets in the second innings, along with Suchith J’s consistent performance (3 wickets in each innings), helped bowl Manipur out for 257 in their final innings, securing the win by 147 runs,” it stated.
In the first innings, Nagaland were bowled out for 237. In turn, it dismissed the Manipur batters for 139.
Then Nagaland racked up 306 runs in the second innings before declaring.
The team will now play an away game against Goa at the Panjim Gymkhana Ground, Panaji, scheduled to begin on October 26.
