Rajeev Chandrasekhar inaugurates revamped Nagaland Emporium in New Delhi

DIMAPUR — Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Information Technology, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, officially inaugurated the revamped Nagaland Emporium in New Delhi on September 6.

The inauguration was attended, among others, by Advisor to Nagaland chief minister and chairman of the Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland, Abu Metha, and Advisor of Industries and Commerce, Hekani Jakhalu, an update stated.

In his address, Rajeev Chandrasekhar expressed optimism about Nagaland’s economic prospects, citing its rich tradition of micro-entrepreneurship in arts and handicrafts.

Chandrasekhar emphasised the importance of the Nagaland Emporium as a showcase of Nagaland’s talent and capabilities on a global stage, remarking that the central government, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, is committed to assisting micro-entrepreneurs from every district in Nagaland to access broader markets.

Abu Metha underlined the significance of the Nagaland Emporium as an ambassador of Nagaland and its people. He stressed that the newly renovated space embodies the Naga way of life and aims to pique the interest of visitors to learn more about Nagaland and its vibrant culture.

The advisor to the chief minister also noted that this endeavour aligns with the chief minister’s vision to elevate Nagaland to a state of excellence, with a focus on benefiting the grassroots creators, manufacturers, and artisans.

Earlier, Hekani Jakhalu, in her welcome address, expressed gratitude for the contributions of Rajeev Chandrasekhar to Nagaland’s development journey.

The programme was chaired by Commissioner and Secretary of Industries and Commerce, Kekhrievor Kevichusa.

Pastor of NCF Delhi, Rev. Dr. N. Ricky Medom, pronounced the invocation prayer and chairman of NHHDC, Prasielie Pienyü, proposed a vote of thanks.
