DIMAPUR — The Governor of Nagaland, La. Ganesan, along with invitees from various communities and the officers and staff of Raj Bhavan, commemorated the foundation day of the 13 states and union territories of India at Dr. Imkongliba Ao Hall, Raj Bhavan, Kohima, on Wednesday.
Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Lakshadweep, Puducherry, Delhi, Chandigarh, and Andaman and Nicobar Islands were the states and union territories that celebrated their foundation day on November 1.
The governor, speaking on the occasion, said that the gathering of different communities at Raj Bhawan was a testament to the diverse beauty of the nation.
He mentioned that each state in India is unique, with its own rich cultural traditions and heritage, and that unity in diversity is what makes the country great. The governor also presented certificates of appreciation to the participants.
On behalf of the states, vice president of Malayali Samaj, Kohima, Shaji K; secretary of Nagaland Telegu Samaj, Sankar Surada; and additional principal chief conservator of Forest, Nagaland, Senthil Kumar M, highlighted the history, achievements, and contributions of their respective states to the nation.
Delegates from Ladakh also attended the celebration.
