Rainwater harvesting system for Longleng district

A rainwater-harvesting system for safe drinking water, for Longleng district was inaugurated on June 10 by CK Nihekhu Sema, Secretary for Science & Technology.
The system has been sponsored by department of Science & Technology Government of India and implemented by the Nagaland Science & Technology Council, Government of Nagaland. Phom Baptist Christian Association constructed the system.
While giving a brief introduction about the project, executive secretary Y Nuklu Phom said that the rainwater harvesting system would benefit many sections of people ‘because the guest house in the PBCA campus accommodates guests from different fields.’
In his speech, CK Nihekhu Sema said that the church has pioneered various developmental activities in Longleng district during the last three decades. He hoped that the PBCA would come forward to facilitate the department and other agencies in taking developmental concepts to other parts of Nagaland as well.
Tsiesema to have solar water project
An innovative water solution technology project – “Solar powered water Treatment Unit” that has been successfully installed in three most water scarce villages of Kohima District viz Tsiesema, Meriema and Kijümetouma, is to be symbolically inaugurated by Minister for PHED Noke Wangnao at 10 am on June 13 at Tsiesema village.
The program will be chaired by, Principal Secretary to Government of Nagaland, PHED & IFCD, R. Binchilo Thong, while pastor of Baptist Church Tsiesema, Kizouvi Huorü will say the invocation and welcome address will be delivered by Viyielhou, chairman Tsiesema Village Council.
Brief technical report of SPWTU will be given by Chief Engineer PHED, Er. Kevisekho Kruse, shorts speeches from chairmen of Meriema and Kijümetouma Village Council and Shaleen Apurva, Managing Partner Additya Corporation, Mumbai. Special number from Tsiesema cultural group and the vote of thanks will be delivered by Er. Y.Tep, SE PHED, Kohima Circle.
