Rain expected in Nagaland for one week

DIMAPUR: Most part of Nagaland is likely to experience rainfall during on Tuesday and Wednesday, and light to moderate rainfall in most days of the week from May 25 to the 31st, according to an update from the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).

Thunderstorms and lightning is likely in Dimapur, Peren, Phek, Wokha, Mokokchung, Longleng and Mon districts on May 23, and in Mon, Tuensang, Wokha, Kohima and Dimapur on May 24, predicted IMD.

It also stated that light to moderate scattered or fairly widespread rainfall and thunderstorm is likely over the northeast, northwest and adjoining central India from May 25 to the 31st.

Light to moderate isolated and scattered rainfall/thunderstorm is also likely over south Peninsular India during the week but no significant weather likely over rest parts of the country.

Overall, rainfall activity is likely to be above normal over northwest and Madhya Pradesh and below normal over the rest of the country, it updated.
