Dimapur, July 30 (EMN): After launching Radeon RX 6700 XT mid-range GPUs in March, AMD has officially announced its 1080p flagship, the RX 6600 XT.

The Radeon RX 6600 XT is aimed at 1080p gaming, however, the card will be capable of decent 1440p gaming too. AMD claims the Radeon RX 6600 XT offers 15 per cent better performance than Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 3060 and up to 2.5X better performance than the GeForce GTX 1060.

The Radeon RX 6600 XT is powered by AMD’s RDNA 2 graphics architecture, same as the Radeon RX 6900 XT, RX 6800, and RX 6700 XT.

The Radeon RX 6600 XT has 32 compute units, 2359MHz stock frequency to 2589MHz (boost) and 8GB of GDDR6 memory on a 128-bit bus. The card can draw 160W power consumption with a single 8 pin power connector. It also features Radeon Boost for higher frame rates, AMD’s Smart Access Memory, Fidelity FX Super-Resolution for graphics upscaling and Radeon Anti-Lag for improved latency.

Like the rest of the 6000-series GPUs, the Radeon RX 6600 XT is also capable of ray-tracing. However, do not expect good ray-tracing performance as it has lower specs than the RX 6700 XT and the latter has struggled in ray-tracing tests.

The Radeon RX 6600 XT will be available from August 11 and will be manufactured by Asus, MSI, Gigabyte, Sapphire, XFX, ASRock, Biostar, PowerColor and others.

The Radeon RX 6600 XT is expected to be launched with an MSRP starting at $379 (INR 28,275 in India before taxes). With the global shortage of CPUs and the rise in graphics card prices, expect the price of the new AMD card to change come launch day.
