Dimapur, June 3 (EMN): A two-day annual summit of ‘Quest 2 Learn’ was held on June 2 and 3 in Bangalore. This idea was to bring educationists, non profit industries, corporates, governments, and youth under on one platform and discuss the importance of building a value chain ranging from education, skills, employment and careers.
Director YouthNet of Lezo Putsure, who moderated a session, spoke on the importance of a callibrative effort that included education, skills, private companies, governments and youth to create an eco-system that would be beneficial for all stakeholders while ensuring young people get into jobs.
Youth from across the country, who were on the panel, shared their experiences and also their fear that one day technology could take away jobs especially when machines and robots replace grassroot workers.Representatives from the industries such as CISCO, GenPact and LetsIntern shared on the importance of ‘How internships, apprenticeships and creative thinking must be encouraged,’ ‘How teachers, parents should allow their kids to do what they want,’ ‘How technology should be seen as an enabler to break barriers,’ and ‘How India needs more entrepreneurs and thinking beyond traditional jobs.’
