GA/ CC/ PWD Youth Fellowship, winner for the WTBC youth fellowship hymnal competition 2019 pose for a lens along with the judges and WTBC youth ministry officials.

Dimapur, June 30 (EMN): GA/ CC/ PWD Youth Fellowship has won the youth fellowship hymnal competition organised by youth ministry of Wokha Town Baptist Church held on June 29 on the theme “Master, the tempest is raging.” Saron Youth Fellowship and Tsumang Youth Fellowship won the second and third prizes respectively.

Altogether seventeen fellowships numbering 697 participants participated in the competition.

The programme began with an invocation prayer by Elithung, Deacon of WTBC, while the welcome and keynote address were delivered by Y Chumbenthung Murry, assistant pastor/ youth director, who also explained the purpose of the hymnal competition as well as the background of the hymn which was composed by Mary Ann Baker basing on Mark 4: 36-41 during her trying moment in her life at the tragic death of her younger brother.

Meribeni Patton presented two songs, while the Bible reading was led by Lithungbeni Khuvung, and the offertory prayer was said by Ronsuo Ezung.

The assistant pastor/ youth director expressed profound gratitude to the congregation and all the judges for the success of the competition. The judges of the competition were Benlanthung Yanthan, youth director of DLBC; Jethro Merry, proprietor of Live Sound Studio; Abigail Odyuo, proprietor of Shofar Music Academy; Mhonroni R Ezung, music lecturer of MSM; Zachamo Ngullie, master of Nagaland Police Brass Band; and Meribeni Patton, music teacher.

The prize distribution was officiated by the assistant pastor/ youth director and presented by Rev. Thungrio Khuvung, pastor of WTBC.
