Purple Fusion, a folk fusion band from Nagaland, has made Nagaland and the North East region proud by winning the best Folk Singer/Songwriter Album at the Akademia Awards based in Los Angeles, California.
The band won the award a month-and-a-half after release of its debut album “Folk Reminiscence”.
The results of the awards were declared by a panel of judges with no votes taken online from the public while the submissions were made by bands from all over the world in the folk as well as various other genres.
Along with the award, Purple Fusion will have one year contract with the academy during which it will distribute the album to various radio stations and channels around the United States and also manage the band.
Purple Fusion had released their debut album on August 28 and also released its music video Ho Hey!. The band has also tied up with one of the leading online music distributors TuneCore, and their songs are available on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, GooglePlay and in Indihut, the only online music store in Nagaland.
