Dimapur, Nov. 17 (EMN): The 4th edition of Pungro Area Village Guards Sports Meet 2018 was held from Nov. 14 till the 16th at Pungro town under the theme, “Unity through Sports” with E. Wanmei Konyak, deputy commandant, VG Kiphire as the chief guest. The deputy commandant in his speech asserted on the importance of conducting these events as it helps the personals to work out extensively. He also congratulated the convening committee of the sports meet. Zakabo V. Rotoka, ADC Pungro and Yankiumong, Jamadar, VG, also spoke at the inaugural programme.
The closing ceremony was conducted on Nov. 16 with Asetsu, Asst. Commandant, VG Pungro as the chief guest.
Moya VGs emerged as the champions for the third consecutive time and walked away with a cash prize of INR 30,000 and Penkim VGs ended their campaign as the runners-up and received a cash prize of INR 20,000.
