Prominent youth leader Vevoyi D Vadeo joins NDPP

NDPP President extends welcome, to work with accommodative spirit

Kohima, Oct 27 (EMN): In a major boost to the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) under the leadership of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and NDPP President Chingwang Konyak, prominent youth leader Vevoyi D Vadeo joined the ‘Globe’ party along with hundreds of workers from various political parties on Thursday morning.

Sources confirmed to Eastern Mirror that the former president of Chakhesang Students Union (CSU) along with his team had joined the party at Pfutsero town in Phek district in a significant development for NDPP of the 17th Chizami Assembly Constituency (AC).

It was informed that Vadeo joined the party in the presence of Konyak and other NDPP central and regional leadership, who were on their way to Phek as the NDPP president is set to tour Phek region and also inaugurate the NDPP Phek region office building-cum-party leaders meeting at Phek town hall later in the afternoon.

The names and designations of the new members were yet to be divulged at the time of filing of this report, however, sources said that the party workers who joined the NDPP consist of NPF, BJP, RPP and NPP as well.

Mention may be made that Khezhienyi Khalo from NPF party is the sitting MLA of the 17th Chizami AC.

Meanwhile, Vadeo said that he joined NDPP to strengthen the leadership of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and NDPP President Chingwang Konyak.

Konyak, in his speech, said that the party was formed in May 2017 and had faced the election through a seat sharing with the BJP party and formed the government. He further assured of a stable government in the state for prosperity and development and exuded hope that the alliance between the NDPP-BJP will strengthen and fulfill the aspirations of the people.

He welcomed the newcomers and acknowledged them for coming forward to join the party and exhorted the party men and women to have an accommodative spirit leaving aside one’s personal interest and think for the welfare and interest of Phek district and Nagas.
