APROPOS to the news item published in Eastern Mlrror, Page 2(two) on 191h September 2016 under the caption, “LOU DHEP GENERAL MEET CONDUCTED.” I am compelled to issue this rejoinder in order to make the record straight.
It is a fact that I have also attended the meeting of the so-called ‘Land Owner Union Doyang Hydro Electric Project (LOU – DHEP)’ held on 14th September 2016 convened by Mr. R. Yanthan and his group at NRC Hall Doyang but I have made it clear that the tenure of the LOU-OHEP under the President ship of Mr. R. Yanthan cannot be extended as per the judgment of the Hon’ble Civil Judge (Jr) Wokha, dated 29-07-16.
As such, the question of unanimous decision to re-affirm the validity of the election held on May 14, 2014 does not arise. Therefore, fresh election of LOU¬OHEP should be called once again at the earliest by inviting all the effected villages with the prior approval of the District Administration. Since, DHEP is an Important project not only for Wokha District but for the entire Nagaland, a new team of LOU-DHEP is urgently required in order to assist the Head of Project (HOP) for smooth functioning of the project.
