Kohima, April 28(EMN): The 3rd Assam Rifles have begun conducting a two-month ‘orientation course’ at the Indira Gandhi Stadium in Kohima town today. It is part of the upcoming recruitment rally to the army in May and in continuation of the security forces to ‘encourage and guide’ the local youth of Nagaland.
A deputy commandant of the 3rd Assam Rifles, Ganesh Singh, told the Eastern Mirror that the counselling course was to give the youths confidence and to make them capable for recruitment.
The youths are being provided with basic information about the recruitment rally. They include information related to the recruitment rally; conduct and pattern of physical and written tests that aims at improving calibre.
One of the officers said that the youths are provided with free lodging and food at the army camp, and that the orientation course was still open for people interested in joining the army.
