Pranab School felicitates achievers

Students of Pranab Vidyapith School are seen paying homage to Subash Chandra Bose on his 122th birth anniversary.

Dimapur, Jan. 29 (EMN): Pranab Vidyapith Higher Secondary School (PVHSS), Dimapur, managed by Bharat Sevashram Sangha (BSS), has organised its annual prize giving ceremony on January 20 in the school’s premises. Swami Viswapremananda Maharaj, BSS assistant secretary, head office, Kolkata, was the chief guest and Swami Dheyaneshananda Maharaj, chairman of the Vidyapith, was the guest of honour.

During the event, the school felicitated students from Classes- Nursery to XII for their outstanding academic performance, while many teachers were also felicitated and awarded for their cent percent attendance.

The school annual report was presented by the vice principal, Ashok Kumar Ray, while the school magazine ‘The Pranabam’ was released by the chief guest.

Presentation of cultural items by the students and teachers added colours to the programme. Besides, senior monks of the Sangha delivered valuable and inspirational speeches to the gathering.

After the programme, BSS Dimapur branch conducted ‘Trishul Mahotshav’ in its own traditional manner.

On January 21, ‘Hari Nam Sangkirtan’ was also organised. It was followed with a procession starting from BSS temple to Pranabananda Women’s College, Lhomithi Colony, Dimapur. Thousands of devotees and well-wishers have participated in the procession.

Trishul Mahotshav concluded on January 22.

Meanwhile, Pranab Vidapith Higher Secondary School (PVHSS), Dimapur, celebrated the 122nd birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose on January 23. Netaji was one of the prominent leaders who struggled for India’s freedom from the British rule.

The programme began with the universal peace prayer followed by garlanding the portrait of Netaji by the school’s vice principal, Ashok Kumar Ray, and other senior teachers.

Sarmistha Mukherjee and her group paid tribute to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose with a group song. Senior assistant teacher Ranu Purkayastha spoke on the life and contributions of Netaji. The programme ended with the INA national anthem alongwith the beating of drums by the students of PVHSS.
