Dimapur, March 19 (EMN): The 33 KVA Power Transformer at Mangkolemba town, which was damaged on February 20, was restored on March 18. It may be mentioned here that following breakdown of the transformer, Mangkolemba town and its surrounding villages was reeling under darkness.

The power was restored with the assistance of the Mangkolemba Ao Lanur Telongjem (MALT) and the Tzudayong Ward citizens, which sent the transformer for repairing on February 26. A short term arrangement for power supply was made with the help of the SDO Power Department at Longnak which served as a lifeline for the affected areas.

Meanwhile, MALT has expressed gratitude to Er. Tiameren Walling, EE Transmission, Kohima; Er. Chubatemsu, SDO Longnak; Imotiba Kichu, JE Mangkolemba; and all the staff of Power Department under Mangkolemba for their untiring service in restoring the power supply.

MALT also appreciated the discretion shown by the public in using electrical appliances and the complete halting of small scale industries and machinery at Mangkolemba during the affected period.
