Power department inaugurates ‘Day Care Centre’
DIMAPUR — On the occasion of ‘International Women’s Day,’ a ‘Day Care Centre’ of the Power department was inaugurated by Asangla Imti, secretary of Power, at the office premises of the Engineer-in-Chief, Power.
In her inaugural address, the secretary congratulated and commended the department for the benevolent and noble act in providing a solution to working parents through a day care centre. She stated that such facility can provide a nurturing environment for children, allowing them to socialise with other children and help in developing their skills and etiquette while also giving a sense of security to the parents, stated an update from the department.
She encouraged the employees to bring their children to the centre and make full use of the facility. She further expressed hope that by starting the day care centre, work productivity would improve and absenteeism in the workplace would also reduce.
In his message, the engineer-in-chief of Power, Moa Aier, stated that the health of a child and mother is extremely important not only for the individual concerned but for the family and society at large. He expressed hope that the centre, albeit a small contribution of the department, would be significant towards a healthier and more productive society and a better Naga future.
The chief engineer of T&G, Penrithung Yanthan, has thanked all those who have made the initiative a success. He shared how important it is for a child to be with a mother. He expressed hope that having such a facility near the office will give security and assurance to the working parents that their children are well taken care of while at work.
Short speeches were also delivered by Atoho Jakhalu, chief electrical inspector, and Kasho Chishi, additional chief engineer of T&G.
