Dimapur, Feb. 7 (EMN): Power department, revenue team held a meeting under the chairmanship of Joint Secy. Power Sara S Jamir on Monday at SLDC, Dimapur. An update from DPRO Dimapur stated that Jamir appreciated EE Chumoukedima and EEDimapur for increasing its revenue collection to 52.94% and 24.3% respectively. On prepaid meters, EE Dimapur reported that installation of prepaid meters were completed and its commissioning was in progress, it read.
On load shedding, EE(Transmission) clarified that due to drought-like situation last year, quantum of power availability was ‘very less’. However, he stated that Dimapur Transmission Division and Distribution Division of Chumoukedima and Dimapur were coordinating and working hard to minimise power outage.
It was decided to continue with a raid/disconnection drive for revenue improvement along with operation and maintenance activities for the welfare of consumers, it read.
Further, Jamir stated that while revenue collection is equally important, welfare and grievances of consumers and improvement in maintenance and stable power supply should not be neglected.
