Police seize contraband in Karbi Anglong

Diphu, Oct.30 (EMN): Karbi Anglong police recovered 800 kg of marijuana (ganja) from a truck bearing registration number HR-38X-8093 during a naka check at Khakrajan under Borpathar police station around 6 am on Sunday.

The market value of the consignment is said to be around INR 80,00,000.

The driver of the vehicle identified as Sewa Singh (36), son of late Mohan Singh of Janak Puri Basti, under Ambala police station, Haryana, has been arrested.

According to police information, acting on a tip off, a joint naka was set up by one section of G/20 U/C and civil police team at Khakrajan under PS  Borpathar and around 6 am, the a truck carrying the contraband was intercepted.
