Police Baptist Church Mon organises penalty shootout

DIMAPUR — The Police Baptist Church Mon (PBCM) Youth Department, Sports Ministry, organised a penalty shootout event on the theme ‘Athletes for Christ’ (I Corinthians 9:25), on Saturday.

The event conducted with the objective to promote sportsmanship, teamwork and authentic community among young athletes, an update stated.

Bandangwati, SDPO Mon, in his exhortation, said that it is essential to appreciate and give thanks to God for the opportunity to engage in activities that promote physical and mental well-being.

“Sportsmanship, game spirit, discipline, teamwork and health are crucial aspects that we should never overlook.  By fostering a positive and fair environment, we can ensure that everyone involved in sports can enjoy the benefits and create lasting memories,” the police officers said.

Team Cafe 90 minutes emerged champions of the penalty shootout while Organiser Team-A were declared runners-up.

Altogether, 40 teams from clubs, colleges, churches and schools took part in the competition.

Earlier, Banwang, pastor of PBCM, invoked God’s blessings and Noklem Konyak youth director of PBCM, delivered the welcome address.
