DIMAPUR — With an objective to foster socio-economic development in the district, an awareness programme on Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Program (PMEGP), Financial Literacy Camp (FLC) and Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme (EAP) was conducted at the conference hall of the deputy commissioner’s office in Kiphire on September 16.
The programme was chaired by Vitsumong Y, credit coordinator of SCK (Swavalamban Connect Kendra’s) Kiphire, wherein he gave an introduction about the work profile of SCK in the district.
A DIPR report stated that the session began with an opening remarks delivered by Takatemjen Pongen, EAC of Kiphire and nodal officer of SCK, Kiphire, wherein he encouraged to all the members to have proper planning and strategy before they start their business.
It stated that awareness on PMEGP was shared in detail by Veswuvo Phesa, functional manager of District Industry Centre (DIC). He spoke on eligibility criteria for the scheme.
It stated that financial literacy camp (FLC) and entrepreneurship awareness programme (EAP) was conducted by T Thripili Sangtam, centre manager of SCK Kiphire, wherein he stressed more on the management of budgeting and business problem-solving in the locality. Thripili also encouraged the members to be job creator instead of job seekers.
The session concluded with a discussion between the resource persons and participants.
