Pfutsero College hosts HIV/AIDS and blood donation awareness programme
DIMAPUR — The red ribbon committee of Pfutsero Government College (PGC) organised an HIV/AIDS and blood donation awareness programme at the college premises with Dr. Vepfuhu Kezo, medical officer, CHC Pfutsero, as the resource speaker, on September 16.
Kezo, speaking on HIV/AIDS and drug abuse awareness, highlighted the symptoms, diagnosis, treatment, prognosis, and prevention of HIV/AIDS, as well as the availability of an integrated counselling and testing centre (ICTC) at CHC Pfutsero. He also gave an informative presentation on adolescent substance misuse and the factors that protect adolescents from substance misuse.
Speaking on the benefits of blood donation, he educated the audience on the eligibility and criteria for blood donation, as well as the significance of blood donation.
Following the programme, PGC students and faculty received free blood grouping and ICTC services.
