Dimapur, Feb. 2 (EMN): The first of what is being called the ‘randomisation of all recognised political parties’ in the 13th Pughoboto assembly constituency of Zunheboto district was held in Pughoboto on Feb. 2, the IPR has stated in its updates on Fri. What ‘randomization’ meant was not explained in the updates.
The district election officer (DEO) of Pughoboto Avelu Ruho informed that trainers were deputed with EVMs and VVPAT to villages ‘for awareness.’
The DEO also apprised on machines requirements status under the sub-division.
Recognised political parties that want to conduct public rallies must take permission from the authority and obtain a ‘no objection certificate’ for the area they want to conduct the programme. They may also apply online with proof documents, the establishment informed.
Officials and party representatives checked the machines in the presence of paramilitary forces at the Customary Court Hall prior to the programme, it was informed.
