Dimapur, April 16 (EMN): Minister-in-charge of Mon district for Covid-19 response, P Paiwang Konyak on Thursday visited District Hospital and donated INR 2 lakh and interacted with the doctors.

The minister also convened a consultative meeting to discuss the second phase of the lockdown with the district administration, Police, NGO and civil societies in the conference hall of the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Mon.

Addressing the members present in the meeting, the minister reiterated the need for good coordination between the district administration and civil societies in the fight against the spread of Covid-19 in the district.

Sealing of inter-state and district and international borders in an all-out effort to tighten border vigilance were also discussed.

During the meeting, civil societies suggested that the School Education department should come up with an innovative arrangement to conduct homeschooling and online classes for government school students, to which the minister gave assurance that the matter would be taken up at the higher level.

For those students and individuals stranded in cities and other towns, it was decided that for now they will be asked to stay wherever they are and assistance would be provided to address their grievances.

The minister made an appeal to NGO and civil societies to identify genuine needy families, so that required assistance can be given to them.
