Dimapur, June 11 (EMN): The installation work of pressure swing adsorption (PSA) oxygen generation plant at District Hospital Longleng is in progress and is expected to complete next week, informed Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Longleng, Dr. Obangjungla.
The chief medical officer informed this newspaper that they are prepared for any eventualities and have enough stock of medical equipment according to the population of the district.
There are two ICU beds with ventilators, which can be increased if the situation demands, she said, adding that six patients had been admitted to the hospital while eight other were kept in the community isolation centre which has a capacity of 25 beds.
Dr. Obangjungla said that most of the Covid positive patients are kept at community isolation centre and in home isolation. However, the district task force allows home isolation only if the facilities at the patients’ houses meet all the criteria for such provision.
She also informed that they have stopped random testing and activated community surveillance exercise to test those who have flu-like symptoms, adding that people have started coming forward for self-test at the clinic, and if found positive they are kept in the isolation ward.
The medical officer said they share good co-ordination with the Phom Baptist Christian Association, NGOs, civil societies, student bodies, police and the administration in the district, which helps in containing the spread of the virus.
In terms of population-wise vaccination in the state, Longleng has the highest percentage compared to other districts, she added.
