Over 500 participate in Kenguruse Memorial Run in Dimapur
DIMAPUR — In tribute to Captain Neikezhakuo Kenguruse, Mahavir Chakra (posthumous), the Spear Corps of the Indian Army organised the Kenguruse Memorial Run at Bhagat Stadium, Rangapahar Military Station, Dimapur, on Sunday.
The event was held to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Kargil Rajat Jayanti and to honour the supreme sacrifice of Capt. Kenguruse, according to an update.
The memorial run saw participation from over 500 individuals, including all ranks and families of the Rangapahar Military Garrison, in 2 km, 5 km, and 10 km runs.
Capt. Kenguruse’s parents were felicitated by Lieutenant General Harjeet Singh Sahi, UYSM, AVSM, YSM, SM, GOC, Spear Corps, on the occasion.
In his address, the GOC expressed deep gratitude for the sacrifices made by Capt. Kenguruse and his family. He stated that the run was not just an event but a symbol of their enduring respect and remembrance for him. He added that Capt. Kenguruse’s bravery during the Kargil War serves as an inspiration to all.
The officer also awarded prizes to the winners in each running category.
