Over 2 lakh unorganised workers in Nagaland register on eShram
DIMAPUR — A total of 218,681 unorganised workers from Nagaland have registered on the eShram portal since its inception until February 23, 2023.
According to the Open Government Data (OGD) Platform India report, the total number of registrations of unorganised workers was 28.60 crore under the e-shram portal. Uttar Pradesh recorded the highest number of registrations of unorganised workers, with 8,30,16,088, while Lakshadweep had the lowest number of registrations, with only 2,433, as of February 23, 2023.
Among the north-eastern states, Assam has the highest number of registrations of unorganised workers, with 69,33,160 registrations. Following Assam, Tripura has 8,44,623 registrations, Manipur has 4,05,133 registrations, Meghalaya has 2,88,838 registrations, Arunachal Pradesh has 1,40,631 registrations, Mizoram has 58,273 registrations, and Sikkim has 24,436 registrations of unorganised workers.
The agriculture sector had the highest number of unorganised worker registrations under the portal, with 14,99,39,978, followed by domestic and household workers at 2,79,22,613, and construction workers at 2,59,83,686. Additionally, the apparel sector saw 1,78,92,024 registrations, while under miscellaneous, there were 1,22,07,857 registrations.
As per gender-wise registrations of unorganised workers until February 23, 2023, females accounted for the highest number of registrations, with 151,014,293 (52.8%). Males accounted for 135,019,374 registrations, constituting 47.2% of the total registrations.
