Orientation on preparation of GPDP held in Jakhama
DIMAPUR — The Rural Development department under Jakhama block conducted a one-day orientation programme on people’s plan campaign for preparation of the Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) for financial year 2025-2026 in Jakhama on Friday.
The event included training for line departments and village stakeholders on the Panchayati Raj community-based organisations (PR-CBO) convergence programme.
The resource person and BDO of Jakhama, Vilopi Angami, spoke on preparation of the GPDP, emphasising methods to involve community input in the planning process.
Another resource person and state project coordinator, Kheboka, has briefed on PRI-CBO convergence programme, wherein he informed that PR-CBO convergence project is a model for supporting both Panchayati Raj institutions and community-based organisation network for effective convergence leading to sustainable and better implementation of NRLM, a DIPR report stated.
He also highlighted the objectives of the project and major activities like capacity building of CBO network, working with local governance and communitised committees.
The programme was chaired by block programme manager, Vitsituo Mepfhù-o, while Menguno Koso invoked God’s blessings and Seyievito Neikha delivered the vote of thanks.
It stated that village council chairmen and VDB secretaries from twelve villages along with SHGs attended the programme.
