Organisations mourn Gokheto’s demise

Dimapur, Dec. 12 (EMN): Various organisations have mourned the untimely demise of K Gokheto Chophy, president of Naga Council Dimapur and convenor of JCPI, who passed away at Apollo Hospital in New Delhi on December 11.

AHD: Anal Hoho Dimapur (AHD), while mourning the untimely demise of Chophy, has described him as an upright and gentleman endowed with leadership qualities. The hoho president PY Anghring Anal said Chophy has a special love and concern particularly towards the Anal Naga being a minor community in Dimapur.

The hoho further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed to the Almighty God to grant them strength in their hour of sorrow and grief.

KTCN: Kachari Tribal Council Nagaland (KTCN), while mourning the sudden demise of Chophy, lamented that in his demise the people have lost a good and capable leader who has always worked and stood for the rights and welfare of the people in Dimapur and the society in general.

KTCN has conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.

NPF minority: Minority wing of the Naga People’s Front (NPF) has described Chophy as a visionary leader who has contributed so much for the society in different capacities.

NPF minority wing president Bishnu Bhattacharjee lamented that the people of Dimapur have lost a committed leader and good human being. He has further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.

YAN: The Youth Association of Nagaland (YAN) has described Chophy as one of the most sincere and dedicated leaders. YAN president Veyi Veyie lamented that losing a great leader like him has created a big vacuum for the people of Dimapur in particular and the Nagas in general.

YAN further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members.

ENPUD: The Eastern Nagaland Public Union Dimapur (ENPUD) too has mourned the sudden demise of Chophy and described him as a courageous and capable leader, who stood for the rights of the citizens of Dimapur and worked for the welfare of the society at large.

ENPUD stated that his contributions and services for a good cause would be forever remembered. It further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed to the Almighty God to grant comfort and solace in their hour of grief.
