Onam Invitational Badminton Tournament held in Dimapur

DIMAPUR — Onam Invitational Badminton Tournament 2024, organised by the Morning Shuttlers Club, Dimapur, was held at Dimapur District Stadium Complex on Saturday.

It was informed that 57 teams from three clubs – Morning Shuttlers Club, Progressive Shuttlers Club and Shuttlers United – are taking part in the tournament.

The categories are men’s open 75+, 85+, 95+ and 105+. The winners of each category will receive INR 8000 and runner- up INR 5000, respectively along with medals.

Sharing in the significance of Onam festival, president of Kerala Samajam Dimapur, Josh VA said that Onam is usually celebrated at the end of August or first week of September every year, as per the Malayalam calendar.

He also said that Onam festival does not have any “religious dimension.”
