As the President of the Naga Medical Students Association, I had the privilege of being a part of the safe evacuation of students from Imphal. I would like to use this platform to express my heartfelt gratitude to the government, civil society organisations, and individuals who played a vital role in making this happen. The dedication and commitment shown by the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, Home Department, Health and Family Welfare Department, Dr. Vibeituonuo Sachu,Principal Director Health and Family Welfare and the State Disaster Management Authority were truly remarkable. Their tireless efforts ensured our safe return home, and we are immensely grateful for their support. We would also like to extend our thanks to the Nagaland Police, led by DGP Rupin Sharma, 1st AR led by Brig. Ved Beinwal, Y Kikheto Sema IAS Comm’r and Secy, IRB, and all the officers who provided security and assistance during our evacuation. The Angami Public Organisation, Southern Angami Youth Organisation, Naga Student Federation family, Mao Students Union, and all the civil bodies and youth organisations also played a significant role in making our evacuation a success. We would also like to thank the Nagaland State Transport and all the drivers who risked their lives to bring us back home safely.
While we are grateful for our safe return, we acknowledge that many people are still stranded in Imphal and different districts of Manipur. We urge the concerned authorities to take swift action to bring them back home safely and ensure their well-being. I would also like to express my appreciation and gratitude to all the parents for their support and prayers and to everyone who played a role in our safe evacuation from Imphal. Their efforts will continue to inspire solidarity and cooperation among people during times of crisis.
