NWA to organise senior free-style wrestling Championship

Kohima, Nov. 20 (EMN): The Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA) is organising the Nagaland Senior Free Style Wrestling Championship 2022 on November 26 at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima.

An update from NWA have invited all the bona fide units and also extended invitation to individual wrestlers from all the other districts for participation.

The weight categories for men shall comprise of 57 kg, 61 kg, 65 kg, 70 kg, 74 kg, 79 kg and, 50 kg, 53 kg, 55 kg, 57 kg and 59 kg for women respectively.

The weight measurement as well as entry registration will be done on November 25, at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima, from 2 pm to 4 pm.

It informed that the winner in all categories shall represent the state in the forthcoming national-level to be held in the month of December.

The update informed that Phowang Konyak, Advisor for Fire & Emergency Service, SIRD and Relief & Rehabilitation, will be the special guest and K Puro, former vice president of Wrestling Federation of India, the guest of honour.

Meanwhile, NWA president and colleagues have also expressed happiness on the commendable performance of Naga wrestlers in the recently concluded North East Olympic Games.
