DIMAPUR — The National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP), Kohima, reviewed the NVBDCP programme implementation in Mon district from July 10 to the 12th.
The review was led by Director and Senior Programme Officer (NVBDCP) Dr. R Chubala Aier and her team, according to an update.
The review meeting was initiated by the chief medical officer (CMO), deputy CMO, and district vector borne officer (DVBO) of Mon. The performance of surveillance workers was assessed individually, and the overall performance of the district was reviewed.
Reminding them of the ongoing observance of Anti-Dengue Month in July, district authorities and staff were briefed on the activities to be conducted.
Staff members were encouraged to work sincerely and diligently, remain at their assigned posts, and ensure that all logistics and anti-malarial drugs are available at all health units at all times. It was emphasised that all migrant populations should be screened for vector-borne diseases.
The entomological team also conducted vector surveillance in the district, where vectors for dengue and Japanese encephalitis were found. A sentinel surveillance site hospital for dengue has been established, providing confirmatory testing for the disease.
The findings were reported to the deputy commissioner of Mon, and necessary actions to be taken by the administration in collaboration with the department were discussed.
