Nursing students from across Nagaland participate in SNAI meet
IMPUR — The third state-level Student Nurses’ Association of India (SNAI) Meet was held from August 22 to 23 at Impur, Mokokchung district, with the theme ‘empowering nursing students: prospects and challenges.’
Hosted by the School of Nursing (SoN), Dr. Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital Mokokchung (IMDH), the inaugural programme was graced by Dr. S Marina Yaden, medical superintendent, IMDH, and a special prayer for the nurses was pronounced by ABAM executive secretary Rev. Dr. Mar Pongener.
The convener of the meet, vice principal and SNA advisor SoN IMDH Temsusenla Aier, stated that the meet provided a platform for student nurses to exchange academic knowledge as well as other non-academic activities. She added that the objective of the event was to uphold and uplift the nursing personnel to compete at a higher level so that their knowledge and skills are enhanced.
During the two-day event, a variety of competitions, both academic and non-academic, were held. Aier also informed that the winners of various events will represent the state at the SNAI national level meet, which will be held at the end of the year.
During the valedictory programme, SoN IMDH introduced a running trophy, with the Christian Institute of Health Sciences & Research (CIHSR) declared the champion for their overall performance in various competitions.
The two-day meet was attended by more than 320 participants, comprising ANM, GNM, and B.Sc. nursing students from nine institutions across Nagaland.
The fourth state-level Student Nurses’ Association of India Meet will be held in Dimapur in 2025.
