NSS volunteers from Nagaland shine at national integration camp
DIMAPUR — A total of 14 dedicated National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers from Nagaland representing Zisaji Presidency College in Kiphire, Immanuel College and St. John College in Dimapur along with NSS programme officer, Gagan Chandra Mishra, made a strong impact at the national integration camp (NIC) held at Indira Gandhi University (IGU), Meerpur, Rewari, Haryana, which was held from October 21 to the 27th.
The camp witnessed participation from 16 states and union territories, emphasising national unity and integration.
An update from programme officer stated that the team from Nagaland demonstrated exceptional talent and dedication, thereby securing multiple accolades. They won first place in the singing competition, second place in dance fusion and performed impressively at the mega cultural event.
It stated that their achievements at the NIC have brought great pride and honour to Nagaland.
Besides competitions, the volunteers showcased strong leadership skills by managing meal schedules, leading the daily activities and interacting with esteemed dignitaries. It added that the experience allowed them to build camaraderie with participants from diverse backgrounds while embodying the spirit of national integration.
It further stated that the NIC at IGU, Rewari, offered a valuable platform for those young ambassadors from Nagaland to highlight their talents and contribute towards unity in diversity, bringing home laurels for their state.
