Kohima, Sep. 30 (EMN): Chedema Village Youth Organisation, High School Taxi Drivers X, Nagabazar FC and Government Polytechnic Kohima won their respective matches and entered the second round of the ongoing NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy 2017 at the Kohima local ground on Saturday.
In the second match, Rokosazo Chakhriino scored five goals as Chedema Village Youth Organisation thrashed 12 Tribe United FC 9-1 and will lock horns with Khriekesa FC Merima in the second round on October 7. Rokosazo of Chedema Village found the back of the net in the 10th minute, 29th minute and went on to score his hat-trick in the second half in the 47th minute and added two more goals in the 61st and 69th minute. While goals from Kevineizo Tsira, Rokoneito Thevo in the first half and Kobou Kiwe, Keneisezo Keyho in the second half completed the riot for Chedema Village.
Bamo Khiammungam missed a penalty in the 49th minute for United but scored a consolation goal in the 56th minute for 12 Tribe United FC.
High School Taxi Drivers X beat Agape FC 2-1 to enter the second round of the tournament. Taxi Drivers player Kevilevor scored the first goal in the 10th minute and Khriebu added the second in the 27th minute to make it 2-0 in the first half. Agape FC pulled back a goal in the second half through Kevei Vekhe but Taxi Drivers side held on for the win till the final whistle. With the win, High School Taxi Drivers X will play with Lamphel FC Manipur on October 7.
Nagabazar FC narrowly defeated Kohima Science College 1-0 in the third match on Saturday.
During the match, Kohima Science College showed their class as they defended the scoreline and went on the close numerous times but failed to break the deadlock. Nagabazar were wasteful during the match as they failed to break the stubborn defense until the second half when T.Meren Jamir seized the opportunity to break the deadlock as his teammate latched a through ball and he slotted the ball into the net to score the only goal in the 59th minute. Kohima Science College did hit the crossbar in the extra time but the lone goal for Nagabazar sealed the victory.
Nagabazar F.C will clash with Biekrazou in the second round on October 7.
In the last match, Government Polytechnic Kohima beat Kohima Bible College 1-0 and entered the second round of the tournament. The lone goal was scored by Shingwang in the 14 minute through a goalkeeping error for Government Polytechnic Kohima.Shingwang goal was the only difference in the lackluster match, the game was dominated in the midfield area but both teams failed to create many chances throughout the match.
With the win, Government Polytechnic Kohima will play with Tiema-Khe Kidima in the second round on October 9.
