NSCU observes All India Cooperative Week

Commemorating the 62nd All India Cooperative Week being held from November 14 to 20, Nagaland State Cooperative Union (NSCU) has initiated various activities on different themes during the week-long celebration. The All India Cooperative Week this year is being observed on the theme ‘Make in India through cooperatives.’
National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI) organises the All India Cooperative Week every year through the out country from November 14-20 coinciding with the birth anniversary of Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India. The week-long programme is being observed to propagate the spirit of cooperation in accordance with its aims and objectives to strengthen cooperative movement.
The week-long programme is an occasion to highlight on the achievement and also to introspect and retrospect past activities and its outcome of the different cooperative sectors and also chalk out future strategies of growth based on cooperative development in each sector.
During the week-long progamme, NSCU decided to organize various programmes such as ‘Skill development and employment,’ ‘Enabling legislation for cooperatives,’ ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan: role of cooperative,’ ‘Strengthening cooperation among cooperatives,’ ‘Cooperative marketing, processing and value addition,’ ‘Mitigating calamities through cooperatives,’ and ‘Financial inclusion – cooperatives – issues and challenges.’
CEO NSCU, Temjen Longkumer, said all cooperative sectors would undertake various activities to make the cooperative week celebration a grand success in order to uplift the socio-economic condition of rural masses and development of cooperative sector.
