DIMAPUR — NSCN (IM) has claimed to have repelled wave of attacks against the Naga army by KNA (B), who were working in collusion with PDF and Assam Rifles (AR), in the Naga areas bordering Myanmar and also caused massive damage to the fleeing enemy forces.
A press release issued by NSCN (IM) through its MIP stated that the combined forces of PDF, KNA (B) and AR ambushed the Naga army, who were on their national security duty near the border areas. It stated that Naga army killed more than 14 KNA (B)/ PDF and 4 AR personnel in the retaliatory firing and also captured huge stock of arms and ammunitions including drones from the areas vacated by the fleeing enemy. It stated that there was no casualty on the side of Naga army.
The report stated that on September 3, where the same enemy forces were in drunken state and asleep waiting to ambush the Naga Army again, they lost 4 lives and were able to captured sophisticated arms and ammunitions.
On September 11, around 4 pm, Naga army launched attack on the defence line of KNA (B) and their alliances and neutralised 9 of the enemy forces in action without suffering any casualty. It stated that due to unceasing bombing by drones from the enemy side, Naga army were forced to retreat with captured one AK-81 and many rounds of ammunitions from the battle field.
Meanwhile, NSCN (IM) stated that the Jadonang Brigade, NP Battalion and central command of Naga army, in collaboration with CAO and staff of the Zeilad, managed to bring home 14 members belonging to ZUF (Jenchui Kamei Cessation of Operation), NSCN-K and NNC into its fold. They included 3 from NSCN-K, one from NNC and 10 from ZUF.
It stated that the members have admitted their folly of being duped and carried away under false promises.
It added that the wave of Naga people’s support to NSCN could be seen in Tamenglong, South Nagalim in the present Manipur state. It said the Rongmei peoples have again taken the stand in favour of the historic Framework Agreement as the only acceptable means for Indo-Naga political solution.
