DIMAPUR — NSCN (IM) has strongly condemned the killing of Yumsen Matey, former Congress legislator from West Khonsa in Arunachal Pradesh.
It has described him as an able and inspiring leader with high integrity towards the Naga people and their political rights.
While condemning the dastardly act whatever be the reason, it stated that in his death, Nagas have lost a young dynamic leader.
“Ironically, resorting to political killing is not going to take us anywhere. Certainly, there is always a wide range of means to look into for resolving political conflicts or differences. The violent use guns as a tool to settle political scores is going too far and against the rule of humanity,” it stated.
It further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed for peace of the departed soul.
Meanwhile, Zeilad region of the NSCN (IM) has condoled the demise of Sergeant Ramreikan Shimray from Lunghar village under Wung Tangkhul Region, who was killed in firing incident with Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) in Lamdangmei village in Tamenglong district.
Caretaker CAO of Zeilad region, Sangailung Pamei, stated that Sgt. Ramreikan Shimray joined the Naga national service on September 17, 2012, and served with diligence and bravery. He stated that Zeilad region was a witness to his countless and selfless contributions to the national cause.
The Caretaker CAO has conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed for peace of the departed soul.
